Alt + S Search on a webpage

Find saved cmdOS data and run commands that use the active webpage, tab, or browser window as their real context.

#1

Use cmdOS without leaving the active webpage

Alt + S Search on a webpage opens the cmdOS search surface over the current tab. From one place, users can find saved cmdOS items, browse registered commands, and run actions that use the active page, tab, or browser window.

Search cmdOS

Find saved Notes, Links, Todos, Sessions, Chat Agents, AI Prompts, and commands by the names and searchable terms stored with them.

Use the active page

Current-page actions can receive the page URL, title, readable content, image resources, HTML tables, or the active-tab capture.

Manage the browser

Registered page actions can mute or unmute tabs, close duplicate URLs, and merge open windows.

Actions that need page content or a page URL require a normal webpage with an accessible active-tab context.
#2

Open Webpage Search and select the correct result

Keep the page you want to search or act on as the active tab before opening cmdOS.

1Open the target webpage

Navigate to the page that should provide the URL, page text, screenshots, images, or tables.

2Open Webpage Search

Use the configured Alt + S webpage-search shortcut while that tab is active.

3Search or open command space

Type a normal query to find saved items, or type c followed by a space to browse registered commands.

4Confirm the result

Read the result name and category so you know whether it opens saved data or performs an action on the current page or browser.

5Run it

Click the result or use the Arrow keys and Enter. Complete any real option shown by the selected command, such as a Link collection, AI provider, or screenshot format.

#3

Understand current-page context

The This Site area contains actions that are meaningful only while a normal webpage is active.

Summarize This Page

Reads the available document text, title, and URL, prepares a summary request, and opens the AI providers selected in cmdOS. ChatGPT is used when no provider is selected.

Existing Link Collection

Uses the active page URL and title, then asks which existing Link collection should receive the new entry.

Save Chat Agent

Appears only on recognized supported AI-chat websites and saves that chat through the Chat Agent flow.

Page actions

Screenshot, image, table, tab, and window commands run against the current browser state rather than a saved cmdOS object.

Browser-internal and restricted pages may not expose a normal URL, readable document text, or injectable page content. Commands requiring those values may be unavailable there.
#4

Capture page content and manage tabs or windows

These registered commands act directly on the active page or the current browser state.

Screenshot commands

Capture the visible tab as PNG, capture and copy the visible tab, export the full scrollable page as PDF/PNG/JPG, or select one page element for capture.

Download All Images

Scans the page for available image resources and opens the image download manager for selective or bulk downloading.

Download All Tables

Finds standard HTML table elements and converts their header and data cells into downloadable CSV files.

Tab commands

Mute All Tabs and Unmute All Tabs affect every tab in the current window. Close Duplicate Tabs removes repeated identical URLs across open windows.

Merge All Windows

Moves tabs from other open windows into the current window and closes the windows left empty after the move.

cmdOS closes its webpage-search surface before capture and page-action execution so the overlay is not included in screenshots or left above the action interface.
