Assign physical keys to a saved cmdOS item, then press those keys whenever that item is needed.
Open an item with a keyboard shortcut
A Keyboard Shortcut lets you open a saved cmdOS item by pressing keys. For example, you can press Alt + 1 to open a note, link, collection, todo, or prompt.
You choose a key combination and attach it to one saved item.
Use it for items you open often, so you do not need to search for them every time.
Assign a Keyboard Shortcut
You can add a keyboard shortcut from the item's Properties menu.
Open the note, link, todo, collection, prompt, or command you want to access quickly.
Click the item's Properties option and choose Assign Keyboard Shortcut.
Click the field where cmdOS asks you to press a shortcut.
Press the keys you want to use, like Alt + 1 or Ctrl + Shift + N.
Click Save, close the item, then press the same keys to check that it opens.
Change or clear an assigned Keyboard Shortcut
Changing the shortcut does not change the saved object itself.
Open Assign a Keyboard Shortcut again. The current key combination is displayed in the control.
Capture a new key combination and choose Save. The item will use the new combination.
Choose Clear Keyboard Shortcut to remove the key assignment while keeping the note, link, todo, collection, agent, prompt, or command.
Close the editor and press the keys from a normal supported browser context to verify the result.
